I am very satisfied with my first study stay at the Keats School in Kunming. For 2 weeks I attended a one-to-one course, lasting 4 hours a day, with a very competent, friendly teacher who was able to adapt the lessons to my language level and objectives. The teaching method is very varied and tends to develop all skills; the teacher and the tutor are omnipresent, helpful with every need to adapt to the environment, generous with their suggestions. I chose to reside in a comfortable room in the school and to eat my meals in the excellent school canteen, thus developing collegial relationships with the other resident students. Since the school is in Yunnan, it is very easy to go from Kunming to visit other attractive places in this province, such as Dali and Lijiang. A splendid experience, which I intend to repeat as soon as possible, for a longer period of time.

The food was amazing, and the room was spacious. The learning experience was incredibly interactive, and I have learned a lot in the 3 months I was studying there. The community there was very accepting and warm. The school holds many events as a chance for everyone to bond with each other and make friends. I, personally, LOVE to take part in their outdoor activites on the Saturdays and Sundays. Another thing I love about Keats is the services they provide aside from Chinese lessons. They help you take care of your Chinese bank account, applying for your Chinese phone number, and offer a multitude of other optional services (such as a drive to the airport, room cleaning, etc).

This is the second time I studied at Keats. First in 2019 for 3 weeks and then 2 weeks in September of 2023. The teachers are excellent, caring and understand the needs of each student. If you want to learn Mandarin this is the place to go.

This school is very friendly and accommodating. For the summer, I was supposed to go to Taiwan for a study abroad program that unfortunately got canceled. My sister had found this school in Kunming and we registered with very short notice, however the school was more than happy to expedite the required documents and answer plenty of emails full of questions. Upon arrival, we felt very welcomed since this school has a nice set of staff and teachers. I feel like I developed my Chinese more during the two months I stayed in Kunming than when I learned Chinese for 6 months at my college. Overall it’s a very pleasant experience and an immersive environment with lots of things to do.

Great place to learn Chinese and also to meet interesting people. Students are from all over the world. Well trained teachers and fun extra activities. Price includes accommodation and good food so you can really fully concentrate on studying. Very helpful school staff will answer questions or help to resolve any problems you might have. This year it was my 3rd time there:)

I've been a students at Keats School for over 2 years now (as of January 2020 I am still a student at Keats) and so far, they have never dissapointed me. The way Chinese gets taught at Keats makes becoming fluent in Mandarin a lot easier. Next to that, the school is a nice place to hang out and has a good restaurant, cafe and a gym. Getting my visa extended while studying at Keats has been a breeze so far.

The first 1,5 year at Keats I was a student in the group classes. The group classes are interactive and fun while the teacher makes sure everyone is involved in the subject at hand (it's also not too expensive for a 10hr/week for 16 weeks-semester). After feeling the group class didn't cut it anymore, I tried the one-on-one lessons. These are obviously even more interactive and have really helped me tackle the more advanced topics and grammar in Mandarin. Next to that, because you are the only student, your spoken Chinese will improve greatly over a short period of time.

In the last two years, Keats has had several activities during the semesters which included BBQs, Halloween parties and multiple excursion a week (in and around Kunming). Lots of choice if you have no idea what to do in Kunming. Before choosing Keats I didn't really have a clue where to start learning Chinese in China. Going into my sixth semester I can only say that you can not go wrong in choosing this school; 5/5 stars!

I've been at Keats for five weeks and my experience has been great. In fact, I originally planned to spend only three weeks, but in the end I chose to stay two more. My teachers were excellent, very kind, patient and always friendly. I chose the one on one program, four hours a day, and my skills improved markedly over the time I was there. I have met several students from all over the world, which is always a nice thing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The school also helped me with my visa extension, and everything went smoothly. I ate and slept in school and the food was good. My room was a little small, but this was made up for by the fact that the school now has a completely new floor, which includes a large room where students eat five days a week and spend time studying or relaxing. There is also a bar with a good espresso!

Kunming is an interesting city with a pleasant atmosphere, a mix of ancient and modern, but it goes beyond that, and several sites to visit. People are generally friendly. The surrounding area is beautiful, probably one of the most interesting in China, with many ethnic minorities.

I would certainly recommend Keats and Kunming as my experience was fantastic. Actually I am continuing with the online lessons and I could go back in the future.

I've been to Keats twice now and I've noticed remarkable progress during my time there. I chose their one-on-one program to focus on improving my listening and speaking abilities. Both my teachers were excellent. The school is very popular with returning students - I saw a few familiar faces I knew from last time.

Compared to when I first came to Keats in 2018, the school has significantly expanded its services - in addition to activities twice a week.making dumplings, sampling tea, game night, they now also organize weekend trips and have their own language exchange events. They also hosted a huge Halloween party; last year there was a BBQ bash for which we traveled to the outskirts of Kunming - beautiful scenery and delicious food - and everyone was given a gift.

Just before I left I got to see their brand new floor which houses the student canteen, classrooms, a library and a big open space that serves as the dining hall during meal times and where you can hang out during the day. It's huge compared to their old floor which could get a bit crowded at peak times. They also have a café now where you can order coffee.

It's also very convenient to have breakfast, lunch and dinner served at school during weekdays. It's a bit unfortunate IMO that dinner is served so early, but that's down to personal preference.and you get used to it pretty quickly.

They've also rearranged their admin structure and now have different advisors helping you plan your stay. Your study advisor checks in with you about your classes and your "life advisor" helps you with pretty much everything else: she did my police registration, organized a SIM card, gave me medicine when I was sick etc. The team is really taking good care of you - they really want to help you achieve your study goals.

Kunming and Yunnan are lovely places to explore. I still haven't seen it all and definitely want to come back - both to Kunming and to Keats. Can highly recommend.
