I highly recommend going to the Jinshanling section instead of Badaling or Mutianyu (very touristy) as it’s the less known so almost no people when we get there. Can you imagine one of the 7 wonders of the world almost for ourselves!

The place was nothing short of spectacular!

From the moment I stepped foot on the winding stone steps, I was in awe of the formidable structure. Every stone was well-maintained, and I could feel the history of the wall radiating through me.

The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. It was an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a unique adventure in Beijing.

As you walk across the uneven terrain, you can't help but wonder how these men of past worked tirelessly to hand-make this structure which runs through undulating ridges for 21 thousand kilometres across changing environment conditions. And man it between centuries-old dynasties with a single purpose of keeping marauders at bay. If i could express my love for this monumental effort of time, i would call this the Great Peace Wall. For it kept the scholars and sages, civil service and citizens, educated and employed, curated and cultured. Such is the reward of generational peace. Great foresight by the first and many emperors of China!

The starting point of the Great Wall of China is a blessing to have visited. It was acquired during July 2023, which is the school break time for students. Therefore, many people bring their children to visit.

Ticks all the boxes. Rooms are clean. Good service. Reception is on the 31st floor and you need to go to that floor and walk to a different set of elevators to move between you room and ground floor.

2023, August. So-so hotel, already very old, shabby. It looks like it hasn't been renovated in a long time. The cottages are damp, moldy, stinky. Walls and curtains are all dirty. Don't look under the bed. Bed linen is not changed, towels are fresh every day. The safe doesn't work, it's already rusty. The terrain is hilly, descents and ascents, difficult for the elderly. The sea is far away, about a kilometer. Cafes nearby, sucky, tasteless and expensive. The hotel is far from the center! At the reception, the whales are unfriendly, in Russian and English, not in the tooth with a foot. The only plus is the beautiful green area, everything else sucks.

Played twice on 7/19 and 7/20/2023. Two holes are being reconstructed, so played two other makeup holes. Other than that, the course is well maintained and in great shape.
