Vedas Restaurant reviews
8Vedas is a modern looking, spacious restaurant, well located for a night out. Sadly, the decor and location are the best aspects. Having said that, the service was quick and helpful, though the food had a rushed, pre-cooked, unauthentic flavour and feel. To their credit, they do serve Asahi and Tsingtao beers. Price wise, not cheap. I'd give it a miss if I were you.
Had a great dinner after an evening of shopping. Great food and fantastic service. Looking forward to visiting on our next trip!
Great food, lots of choices both meat and vegetarian. Around 80 yuan for a dish. Very friendly service too!
One of the Indain food option in Shanghai. Little bit costly, but you can enjoy authentic Indian food
I was in Shanghai for 3 month and every evening going to one Indian Restaurant and tried almost all dishes in all Indian Restaurants.
First of all, Vedas restaurant is abusing our Vedas.
Second; Food taste is not Indian at all, rather it is more of Chinese Flavour.
Prices are way too high compared to other Indian Restaurants in Shanghai.
Indians are not coming any more here at least in my 12 visits at different times, I did not see any Indian.its only foreigners who have no idea of actual Indian Food and can not differentiate; are coming here.
It was really nice to find Indian restaurant a few Kms from our hotel.
Food was good.the Manager Vasant and his team were friendly and really very warm.
If you are a Indian traveler and long for Indian food, this is the place.
My best wishes to the Vedas team
Rare authentic Indian food in Shanghai by local standards. I always visit this place when I am in Shanghai
Great Indian food in Puxi district!
Vedas - good food in an interesting location. Make reservations. Take the elevator, not the stairs down the side alley.
My family decided to look for some Indian cuisine and we chose Vedas in Puxi (old French Concession). We found the building easy enough but followed one sign that led us and two locals down a side alley and up the stairs. We missed the elevator since you have to go into what looks like a office building entrance.
We were greeted by the owner and friendly staff and seated near the window and a good view of the kitchen viewing area, great for watching the chefs at work.
We ordered:
- Samosa for appetizers
- Nilgiri Chicken (Curry)
- Jeera Aloo
The Jeera Aloo was great, but I was expecting more flavor from the curry at first. My fault as I had thought Thai flavor when ordering. Both were still great as were the Samosas and the naan bread with butter and garlic.
Worth going back again!
