上海姥姥家常饭馆 reviews
10The perfect place for lunch during our visit to the Bund. We had Shanghai specialties like braised pork and lotus root, and paid 370 cny for 6 people.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu is available in English. Very affordable. Note that they do not take American Express.
Nice restaurant with several Shanghainese dishes and I suspect what tourists expect of 'authentic' Chinese food. The food is good and this place is always busy, especially among the expat community working nearby.
It's strange. In the United States of America the people who run the IT department for the US Navy and the department of biological and chemical weapon Affairs can't figure out how to get to along for some reason? Why do you think that might be? I have a friend who is a level 6 government agent Linguistics codebreaker and he claims that Lucifer is a 180 billion year old alien, do you think it is true?
Just being popular does not mean it’s good. The food was quite bland. After trying several dishes I can not recommend this place. Prices are quite cheap. This is probably the main reason its popular. Better pay a little more
Horrible service. It took one hour to get my order and it was the wrong one. In the meantime my girlfriend had finished eating. Then, halfway through my dish, they came and demanded that we went downstairs to pay. I said thanks, I'm gonna finish first; they sent someone to take our money at the table. Screw this place
GOOD QUALITY CHINESE RESTAURANT
Shanghai Grandmother is a two level restaurant on Fuzhou Road.
Its very popular - which is not surprising as there is quite an expansive menu and comfortable seating.
It is a bit noisy (but then so are many of Shanghai's eateries!).
Menu is in Chinese and English.
Cash and Chinese-issued cards only.
You may have to wait a short while to get a table in the evening but its worth the wait.
Inexpensive and consistently good. Total for 2 of us was ~ 150 Yuan.
Loved it - basic but among the top experiences with Sichuan food during our three weeks in China. Feels a bit touristy but if you're new to Shanghai or China you'll love this. Also: be prepared to wait in line if you come during main hours.
Nice Chinese food.easy to odder any food with English menu and picture.mostly foods are good, but some foods are too salty or oily.
A crowded restaurant at a walking distance from the bund. The food is very delicious and at very reasonable price. The staffs can handle basic english and the menu also has english translation. Recommended menu is the braised pork. It is a three-layer pork braised in soy sauce along with some eggs. Spicy dishes are not too spicy so anyone can enjoy. Caution: bring your own tissue paper or it will cost you 1 yuan for each package of tissue paper.
