I guess most of traveler’s itinerary would be similar. Everyone will try both 佳家湯包 and 小楊生煎 since they are on the same street.
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed on the 小楊 pan fried buns. Many people online and guide books highly recommend them, however, I wasn’t sure if it was because of the weather I visited, there weren’t lots of customer. The buns were not as fresh as I expected.

Great tasting dumpling where they pan fried it making it crispy outside!
Do take note when taking the first bite that beware that theres soup in it and it will splash all over so a must to be gentle on the first bite

Walloped 20 + pieces during trip to Shanghai. I’m not going to recommend you not to go to try out this babeh. Top of it’s class. Beware of the smoky hot juices burst out of the buns.

Take the signature's dumplings. 4 pork fried dumplings for only 8 yuan! Be careful, the soup inside is super hot! Give it a little bite first and suck slowly the soup. Try the golden can with a red "100" like, it's a super sweet tea. Don't forget to try the spicy sauce if you like hot stuff!

Yang's Dumpling! Amazing crispy dumplings. So juicy and flavorful. Super cheap too (12 RMB -that's $1.80 US- for the 4 dumpling combo of pork and shrimp dumplings). Careful, very hot when you first get them and highly addictive!

Pictures on the menu make ordering easy even if you don't speak Mandarin. Point to what you want at the counter inside (to the left). Take your receipt outside to the window opposite (to the right of the main door when facing), point to either a plate or styrofoam container to eat in or for take away. That easy.

2nd best thing on this very local's restaurant street. Very best goes to the delicious xiao long bao across the street at Jia Jia Tang Bao.

Tasty dumplings for a great price. Super fast service as well. Didn't like their soup much but the shrimp and pork dumplings were awesome.

Very good "pan-fried" dumplings. Juicy, but a little too greasy. Be very careful with the first bite - the juice will squirt out wildly. So, take a small bite of the skin on the top to save your shirt and/or pants.
