Food is really not bad. We went on a weekday, waited 15 minutes for a table. The place can be hectic when crowded. Food came pretty fast. Would recommend to order some soup to go along as it can be slightly hard to swallow due to the peanut paste. Overall recommended.

Ordered the recommended majiang mian.
The taste is good but too overwhelming after a full meal (its like satay sauce for those from se asia)

A trip to Shanghai isn't complete without eating the sesame noodles here. It absolutely worth the price and is incredibly filling. This place has been my favorite as a child, but I am glad that it is still here when I returned in 2018. Since this is such a popular place among locals and tourists, expect occasional long waits for vacant seats.

This pub has some great live bands, not too crowded, good service and fresh draught beers.a great venue for group hangout at Xin Tian Di - Shanghai

Local food all round but I found it either too bland or too dry. If you have to, it's sesame noodles or the curry beef soup.

The place was packed even after lunch hours, the food was excellent and super cheap. The portion of sesame noodles was 12RMB and super delicious. Highly recommend

Same as everyone else. Great sesame noodles. Do yourself a favor and add a bit of the table vinegar to the noodles, it makes the dish. Just show a photo to the nice lady at the front desk, pay for your order and sit anywhere, you can share a table with a a stranger. On your table is a clothes pin with your table number, Clip it to your receipt, lady will grab it and bring your food out to you.
Spicy pork was just ok for me, served cold. Noodles were really good, went back a second time. Sesame noodles are vegatarian

I came here in 2015 and was so glad they were still open when I returned in 2019. The noodles are incredible, and the simple dishes are hard to beat in quality and price.

First time here. Love the noodles with the peanut butter sauce. I also had the pork in chili sauce. I will be back for round two.

37平方米，11张桌子，40个座位，里面总是挤满了人在等位，有的是衣着时髦的年轻人，有的是岁数年迈的老年人，全都是为了来品味一口老上海的味道，这就是开了80年的味香斋。上世纪30年代，雁荡路还是一条高雅摩登的小马路，12号街面房开出了一间“西冷咖啡馆”，也就是现在的味香斋，店里除了提供洋气的咖啡以外，也会供应一些简单的面点。八十年代，“向阳饮食店”正式更名为“味香斋”，而今，又被收录在米其林指南中。可见，它对于上海人来说，有着非同一般的意义。

Nice spicy sesame oil- peanut butter noodles.
No English menu- and I wish I knew what else there was on the menu except of the famous noodles. It sure is cheap but the place is a little bit dirty.

Nice restaurant at the Middle Huaihai Road. The food there is really cheap. You can get for example noodles with a little spicy peanut butter sauce for 10 RMB, that’s about 1.25 Euro.
The only „disadvantage“ is the Chinese menu, there is no English translation available.

OLD and small and always busy. Try the scallion noodles and have a deep fried pork cutlet with it. Very satisfying (and no, no english spoken or written here)

Noodle with seasom+peanut source packs your stomach full in high satisfaction. High CP value too! Go there when you feel very very very hungry!
