小杨生煎 reviews
28 The best fried dumpling in the town.
My favorites are pork dumpling and shrimp dumpling
It is a very juicy and flavorful dumpling. They have noodles too.
The shop is open until 24.00. The taste is good. There is a menu with pictures to see. Easy to order Duck vermicelli is the base
Visited shortly after 8 am.
I had the dumpling 4 fish ball soup set (20 yuan) for breakfast.
If ordered separately, it costs 43 yuan.
I went in, sat down at the table, and of course ordered using the QR code on the table.
Delicious. The dumplings are juicy inside, so be careful when eating them. They are hot and will pop out. And eat it with a little bit of chili oil.
The fish ball soup is also delicious. I think you have to add the noodles in a separate order.
It seems that cilantro is included in the soup by default, so if you can't eat it, you should ask them to leave it out.
Overall I am satisfied.
Nice place, bit cleaner than the usual places here. The soup filled dumpling is a funny challenge to eat:) Recommend it!
Absolutely delicious.
Good service.
You can pay cash in case you don’t have access to internet which is needed in making an order from your phone.
Place is a it crowded because it’s popular.
Love it! A franchise selling Shengjianbao (fried dumplings with soup inside). Service was friendly and food was tasty.
Simply the best dumplings you will have ever tasted. You can find shops of this chain all across Shanghai.
This was by far my favorite place we ate at during our two-week trip to China. I've been looking for over 10 years for somewhere in the US that make dumplings as good as these.
It might seem trivial, but I am not much into fried food and dumpling for me is best when steamed. At the Yang’s it will be fried, but very good. As it is cold here now many people prefer the fried stuff, but sometimes it is very greasy. On the same street there will be other places that steam or fry or do both. You have a lot to choose from.
小杨生煎馆 Yang's Fried Dumpling (which I didn't know it's English name translation at the time of our visit 2008) on Ningbo Road which at the time of our visit around the time of the Olympics, didn't have any English signs nor menus in English. Came upon this place just walking around the neighborhood from the Riverside Bund Hotel we were staying nearby.
小杨生煎馆 Yang's Fry Dumpling, especially at this particular location, being able to watch the workers through the window as they cook them. Piping hot, inside, filled with liquid, filling, delicious.
Ordering the Xiao Long Nap was easy enough to just point and click, but anything else I couldn't communicate with them, such as wonton, no cilantro.
Very tasty, kind and helpful people.
Can pay by cash or Ali pay (available for foreigners).
Very good soup dumplings with vegetarian option as well. Tourist friendly as they have photos and all you have to do is point to what you want to eat. Great as a snack or even a main meal.
Yang's is supposed to be one of the very best places in Shanghai to have soup dumplings and it does not disappoint.
They have outlets in several other places in as well including close Shanghai Railway Station
Their crispy dumpling bun is awesome! I recomme d ordering their pork fillings instead of their shrimps (somewhat fishy). They are very reasonably priced, superbly delicious and can be dangerously hot since most of the time it is served fresh from the pan. Eat with caution and dont be tempted to eat it all in one bite because it is seriously hot.
Their fishball soup is also not bad. Overall the food gets a 4.5*/5*. The only thing i dont like is the overall cleanliness of the restaurants (alot of their locations have similar plight), there is this weird smell, uneasy "not clean enough" tables and seats.
Yang's is a great chain! Their dumplings are soup dumplings and will burn the roof of your mouth. Tat said, they are incredible
Had the pork dumpling, crab power (powder!?) dumpling and shrimp dumpling set. I get this is fast food, but the hardened part of the dumpling had absorbed so much old, disgusting oil I felt mildly like puking for a while after. Matsutake mushroom soup had very little flavor.
Simply heaven. In my personal opinion, it's a cross between Xiao Lung Bao and fried gioza. The bottom part is fried crispy, yet it has the soup and meat inside. It taste super good, and it's big, and very affordable. It's simply a must try.
Read the hype and that’s exactly what it is. The horrible service by the staff made the whole experience terrible. Waited in line only to be cut in front of multiple times and with the cashier ignoring anyone that didn’t look Chinese only to be screamed at. Dumplings were bland. Stay away. There are better dumplings down the street and it doesn’t come with an attitude.
Yang’s Fried Dumplings are the best Sheng Jian Bao I’ve tried in Shanghai. It’s right across Jia Jia Tang Bao and I got a pack while waiting on line for xiao long baos. It’s soft but still has that hot soup when you crunch into it? [ratings]: 10/10
¥8 (for 4)
Great fried dumplings. Easy to order for foreigners. Read somewhere that these were one of the best in the city. Go for the mixed dumpling platter and taste all. Non-pork dumplings available too. Crab meat and shrimp and veggie. Veggie one might have egg. Not sure.
The dumplings were tasty, the mung bean soup, not so much. The mung bean is quite an acquired texture.
